Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Pain And Difficulty In Complete Emptying Of Bladder

About three months ago my doctor put me on a 10mg capsule Pamelor for abdominal pain which really isn t helping very much. I ve had this pain for about a year with no real diagnosis after many test. If I have to, I can deal with the pain. I have an Interstim device for bladder retention which I have had for a year and has been working well. Since I ve been on Pamelor, I am having a difficulty emptying my bladder completely. I want to ween myself off Pamelor to see if it makes a difference in the bladder issue. How do I go about the weening off?

Hello,

I do not advise to weaning off the Pamelor medication on your own without taking your doctor's advice. Your doctor can advise you on how to safely and gradually reduce your dose of Pamelor, as abruptly stopping the medication can cause withdrawal symptoms.

Additionally, your doctor can help you determine if the bladder issue is related to the medication or if there is another underlying cause that needs to be addressed. It may also be helpful to keep a journal of your symptoms and any changes you notice after adjusting your medication, as this can provide useful information for your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
