Suggest Treatment For Abscess Below Nipples

I had an ascess just below my left nipple about 7 months ago. I got it treated with host compress and antibiotics because the doctor said their wast no need for surgery since it was so small, about 10 mm in diameter. My areola was also red and swelling at the time. Now that my abscess has been treated, I noticed that my left areola became a shade darker than my right one. It s not red anymore, just light brown. There is no pain or itching, just the change in color. Should I be worried about this?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

No, there is no need to worry about this ma'am. With time, the tone of the affected nipple-areola complex will reach its normal colour. Some shedding of superficial tissue may also take place in a while, and you just need to make sure the region is well moisturised and prevent from any cracked or broken skin through which infections/abscesses can result.

Best wishes.
