Suggest Treatment For Accidental Ingestion Of Melted Plastic
Hi yesterday when I am frying ground nuts in the oil Unfortunately I have used big Plastic Spoon which is used for electric rice cooker, & later I realized that is was melted when I was removing it from the oil pan & at last some part of plastic was stick to the pan, so then I noticed it, removed the sticky plastic on the pan, now my doubt is that I have ate that ground nuts along with the rice and later I have realized that & again I have cooked something in the same pan just by cleaning some part with the paper, So will it be any harmful. Please let me know any medications need to be taken
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have accidental ingestion of melted plastic which could be harmful due to toxins released from melted plastic. As you have been exposed once it could be symptomless; however, if you are getting any kind of headaches and any other symptoms. You should drink plenty of fluids and water to flush out toxins from system. If symptoms still keeps on persisting you should visit general physician once and get complete examination done. Take analgesics to relieve symptoms.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
