Suggest Treatment For Acne And Acne Marks?

acne
I have had acne for about a year now and I've tried numerous things! I've tried using toothpaste, baking soda, lemon juice, salyic acid, benzol cream, pro active, clean and clear, and a lot of neutrogena facial cleansers. Nothing seems to work and I'm so tired of the redness and the pimples. It makes me feel disgusting, so I try to avoid eye contact and stay away from people. It totally flushed my self confidence down the toilet. I've also tried a better diet and all I drink is water all the time. I keep my hair off of my face and wash my pillow case constantly, but still nothing. My cheeks are constantly red and it looks like they are covered with acne, but they're not. So I think its called acne marks. So my question is, how do I get rid of my acne and acne marks? I would kill to have my ivory skin color back!

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Instead of trying home remedies and OTC antiacne products on your face which might be causing more acne and irritation, I would rather suggest you to visit a nearby dermatologist.
Treatment of acne mainly revolves around topical antibacterials like clindamycin, nadifloxacin; topical benzoyl peroxide; topical retinoids.
Cleansing should be gentle with a neutral pH cleanser and should not leave behind your skin dry.
Oral antibacterials e.g Azithromycin Or Doxycycline may also be started for moderately severe to severe inflammatory acne.
Oral retinoids are also an option for severe inflammatory acne Or acne resistant to traditional antiacne medicines Or acne associated with significant scaring.
When you visit your dermatologist, your doctor will be able to assess the severity of your acne and guide you accordingly.

Regards
