Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I understand from your query that you are concerned about your acne problem.
From your description, I would consider the possibility of a moderately severe acne.
You could continue oral
azithromycin and glycolic peels as suggested by your doctor.
The other options which you could discuss with your
dermatologist are oral
isotretinoin and
salicylic acid peels ( instead of glycolic).
Isotretinoin is a very effective treatment for acne. It has to be taken only with the dermatologist's prescription and also has to be regularly monitored for side effects. It should not be taken over the counter. Pregnancy should be strictly avoided while on this tablet. Regular blood tests for liver function and lipid levels has to be done while on this tablet.
You could also use gels containing 1 % clindamycinin the morning and a combination gel with 2.5%
benzoyl peroxide and 0.1 % adapelene at bedtime.
The scars will lighten with peels and with the other treatments.
Do not scratch the pimples.
Have a healthy diet with fruits and vegetables.
Drink upto 2 liters of water per day.
Hope this helps you.
Take care.
