Suggest Treatment For Acne On Face

hi doc... i am 29 yrs old......i weigh around 65 kgs ...i have been suffering from severe acne for the last 6 mts.....and i am sure its all because of hormonal imbalance......i need a treatment for both....should i visit a skin doc or a gynaec....i live in mumbai

Hello,

If you are having menstrual irregularities along with acne, it could be due to an underlying hormonal imbalance.

You could consult a dermatologist who will be able to asses the problem and refer to to a gynaecologist if required.

Wash your face with a pH balanced face wash, preferably a one containing 1-2% salicylic acid. You may apply a gel containing clindamycin 1% in the morning over pimples and Benzoyl peroxide 2.5% gel at night over pimple prone areas. Get these prescribed by your doctor.
