Dear Sir, long back ago i used to have lot of pimples on my skin, and my skin looked very dull. Then i consulted a dermatologist, who gave prescribed me epiduo gel for the control of acne and fc white cream for improving my complexion. After using these products for 2 months my acne is controlled and my complexion was totally improved.Later i stopped using them, and i was severely exposed to sunlight in summer. After few days i can see the acne back on my skin and my complexion was totally lost.So i thought of consulting a dermatologist but i was afraid that using too many chemicals on my face would bring side-effects.But i seriously want to get rid of the acne, and want my original complexion back. Please guide me with your suggetions...

Acne is a chronic condition in those who have it. Unfortunately there is no one time solution to it
Acne treatment revolves around topical antibiotics like clindamycin/nadifloxacin, topical benzoyl peroxide and topical retinoids. Oral treatment includes antibacterials like doxycycline, minocycline and oral retinoids e.g isotretinoin.
Since acne can reform once you are totally off medications, therefore, it is a common practice to continue with a maintenance regimen, commonly a topical retinoid e.g Adapalene, even after acne activity is under control, to prevent formation of new acne lesions. Retinoids are comedolytic and are ideal for maintenance.
This maintenance with a topical retinoid may be continued till a particular age when the tendency to form new acne dies down on its own.
I would suggest that you seek another appointment with your dermatologist regarding the treatment that is most suited for your kind of acne.
Regards
