Hello,

You had X-ray done. Your report showed findings of acute bronchitis. Presently, you are having shortness of breath, chills, are uncomfortable and shaking. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get sputum tests and pulmonary function tests done. Acute bronchitis gets better without treatment within a couple of weeks. If the symptoms persistent then the treating doctor will recommend inhaler and other medications to reduce inflammation and open narrowed passages in your lungs.

If cough keeps you from sleeping, take cough suppressants at bedtime. Antivirals, bronchodilators, anti inflammatory medication, cough suppressants are helpful. Antibiotics are only given when bacterial infection is detected. Stay away from addictions, smoking, alcohol, drugs, etc. Get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
