Suggest Treatment For Acute Depression

My uncle is suffering from acute depression. He was taking prescribed medicine for his illness and has stopped since a year now and has become radical. Also has left his job, putting his marriage into jeopardy. He also refuses to go to a doctor. Hence need a psychiatrist visiting him at his place.

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

First of all, he should not have stopped his treatment suddenly, because it can cause rapid deterioration. Second, he needs some medications such as SSRI, but the medications cannot solve the problem without psychotherapy. Finally, some dietary supplement such as fish oil and folic acid can help him.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dr/Mustafa, Neurologist
