Suggest Treatment For Acute Dry Cough After Alcohol Intake

In the past week when I drink alcohol, 10-15 seconds later I have an acute dry cough. I ll cough for up to 30 seconds (no sputum) and then it will subside. Obviously the treatment is to not drink, but any idea what could be causing it? I m not a heavy drinker (1-2 drinks every other day) and I don t smoke cigarettes. I ve never had this reaction before, and it seems to be triggered only by alcohol. I ve tried drinking water, tea, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, and cola to see if anything else triggers the reaction. Nothing else seems to have the effect. Any ideas?
