my son is 17 and he just recently was abmitted to hayvenwick psych HOsp for acute psychosis. he has digressed very quickly within one week from being a normal kid to not eating or drinking fluids, very incoherent, delusional thinking, bizarre behavior, cant stop talking he wont keep on his clothes. he was medically cleared yet , there is no explaination to what has caused his psychosis. he was getting resperdal 5mg, but he keeps spitting it out. the doctor wants my permission to give him Haldol 2mg IM. what should I do?? # confused Father
hi, I am sorry to hear about your son.. But with the present symptoms I suggest you to go ahead with the doctor's treatment. They know the best for your son. As he is not taking oral medicines we have to go for injections. he may have some side effects caused by the drug...like slurred speech, muscle cramps ,tiredness etc.. so you can be with him and help him to get outside this situation pray for him...just be around...and most important... keep your cool.. I'm sure he will be fine.. hope this answer helps you. thank you.
