They did manage to save him after a week.He developed colitis too. So this 28 year old gets out and begins his Heroin and added suboxone all over again. He barely touched his medications from hospital. He will note live long, will he?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Be careful of what diet you give him. Do not give him red meat, fish products or high protein so that his creatinine levels may come to normal. Give him home made food that is balanced with vegetables and low protein like beans. Give him more fiber rich food. He should stay well hydrated with water and fluids so that his bowel movement is normal.

You are suggested to get him connected to a health care provider or a detox center. He needs to be gradually but successfully weaned off the addiction. During this detox phase he may develop withdrawal symptoms that need to be immediately taken care of. He should be under observation during detox so that his withdrawal symptoms are urgently treated and taken care of so that he is comfortable.

in the mean time he should be treated for underlying health conditions like colitis and kidney problem. He is very young, you are advised not to lose hope and to keep working with him with love and care. Take the help of medical staff, your family people, relatives and your son's friends can be also of great help.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
