Suggest Treatment For Aggressive Behavior With Mood Swings

Hello Doctor,

My Wife (Age:25 Education M.Tech) is showing rash behavior and shouts even at small things. We have a 11 month baby. She spends more time in worrying about small things. She thinks the whole world is against her. She hates her father and mother more than anything. Even though they are not with us. She recalls all the bad things they have done or the pain she has gone through. She exagerates those things and does not think about forgetting those and leading a good life. She believes that every one makes use of her and no one is there when she needs them. Self pity is another thing. Some times she wants divorce but the next moment she says she will lead a good life with me. She is not ready for psychiatric consultation. I am worried about the baby, me and her. We are well to do and without her worries can lead a wonderful life. Can you please help? Thanks, Shashi

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. Sincerely, your wife do not need any psychiatric consultation at this juncture. She is irritable, moody, angry etc. I can understand. She could be disappointed in her life. Could be having some sort of depressive thoughts, which makes her aggressive. You need to talk to her in length. She is your wife. Treat her as such. A good counseling can also work wonders. Consult a psychologist. You can educate her about online treatment / counseling facility and bring her to this platform.
