Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my blood work came back normal with no issues regarding liver function, but my doctor pressed on my stomach and said I have an enlarged liver and has scheduled me for a sonogram, should I be concernced. I am 5'9 and weigh 190, play racquetball 3 to 4 times a week as well as other excercise.
Your blood work normal but you have not mentioned which report has been done
Sometime liver can be just palpable that can be normal but USG will reflect if any underlying cause present....
So you can investigate with USG abdomen and Liver enzymes estimation....
It is better to Also investigate with peripheral smear examination and if PS suspicious than hemoglobinopathy should be ruled out by electrophoresis...
Take care
Follow your physician advise and if needed above work up can be done...
