Age 25. Height 5 10, weight 70kg. Had an accident playing football/soccer - someone elbowed me in the eye. My friend drove me to A&E in his car but I left my glasses in my car. They tested my pupils and said that my right eye wasn t responding much to light but they would run the rest of the tests tomorrow with my glasses as it didn t appear to be anything urgent. Anyway, I got home and later I sneezed and my right lower eye lid puffed right up like a balloon. I called NHS Direct and they said they didn t know much about it but it would be probably be ok to wait until I see the opthalmologist in the morning as the inflation of my eye lid hasn t made my vision worse or caused a bleed. Also I should mention that when it happened I panicked and slowly massaged some of the air out of my eyelid. It s now about half the size it was or maybe less but still feels odd compared to before the sneeze. Just hoping someone can put my mind at rest about this before I go to bed as it is a bit worrying that when I called the NHS they hadn t heard of it happening before... is it serious? Will it go away on it s own? Might I have made things worse by pressing some of the air out (as I m not sure where that air went)...
