Understanding your concern. As per your query you have infected tooth . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like tooth , abscess , pulpitis or gingivitis . I would sugest you to consult dentist again as you have already fixed appointment . Doctor may perform oral prophylaxis . Doctor may order x-ray of tooth to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may also check the tooth for tenderness and check level of infection . If infection has already affaected the pulp then doctor may recommend root canal therapy along with crown on it . For now do warm saline rinses several times a day and maintain proper oral hygiene .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
