Suggest Treatment For An Injured Leg

I have injured my leg doing the splits just over 3 weeks ago. My right leg was the front leg and at the time I felt a tear/pop around my groin area and the top of my thigh just under my bum cheek. I have consulted 2 docters and a physio who have both told me that it is detached from the bone.

One docter requested that I get an ultrasound of my hamstring but this did not show up anything. He is also gave me the option of doing an MRI as this would pick up problems however recommended that I return after about 1 month if the pain persists, as MRI as expenses.

I am concerned because I am still in a considerable amount of constant pain around my groin and top of thigh just under bum cheek area but have found that that pain has been travelling further down my leg. Walking is ok aslong as I dont go up hill, strairs or take wide strides. I am particularly in pain when I am sitting down, this seems to freez the leg and causes more pain when I try to stand up.

I have been undergoing physio for 3 session but I am also going on holidays in 2 1/2 weeks to america for 2 months. I am wondering if I should seek a third opinion?

Also of healing time, what could possible damage it more (I am atheletic and would like to walk/possibly lightly jog and do weights.
