Suggest Treatment For An Injury In The Index Finger

i play softball and have not that i know of injured my left index finger knuckle on palm of hand but it is very sore to touch and it feels lumpy in area i'm wondering because it is the hand i catch with whether repeated blows to that area may have caused a stress fracture
