Suggest Treatment For An Injury On The Rib

i fell on my leftside bullriding, I got injuried. Left rib, 2nd from the top. Went to the er- told I had a broken rib, got pain meds. Follow up 1 week later- doc tells me the x rays show NO rib fractures- tells me the bump will stay there my entire life! I didn't get a striaght answer from this doctor or I won't be asking now- what is the bump? musclse tissue, it feels like the bone and how do I "put it back into my rib cage alined like it was before?
