Suggest Treatment For An Injury To The Thumb

hi ther i hit my thumb with a heavy steel object really hard the nail is black i put a red hot drill in to the nail to release the blood but is still very painfull could i have broken it and what is the trearment for this injury do i need an xray or will it self heal
