Suggest Treatment For An Insect Bite

I have a old insect bite/egg laying site on my leg. It happened in the Arabian desert. A dermatologist did his work 4 years ago. The wound healed but still opens up about 4-5 times a year. I know it s a inflammation that can last for 10 years. But lately when I skrach it my fingers smells like onion. It s very itchy and hard to leave alone. I need some edvice.... Eva.

Hi.
As per your case history you are having eczematization on insect bite site.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like fusiderm-b cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
