Suggest Treatment For An Itchy Bump Under The Toe

Had a very itchy bump under my little toe. I could feel something in there so I clip the skin with a nail clipper and two sesame size white seeds came out. Now toe really hurts where I extracted them. I washed with peroxide and put Neosporin on it. What could this be. I walk barefoot a lot. Could I have picked up something in the yard?

General Surgeon 's  Response
It is very much possible that since you walk bare foot in the yard, these foreign bodies can get introduced into your skin and tissues of the feet. The may cause infection. It is good that you removed the two seeds. You can wash the toe with soap and water and dress it with neosporin ointment. Please limit your ambulation to rest the toe till healing of the wound. If it gets swollen, or red, please consult a general surgeon to know if an antibiotic is to be taken.
