Suggest Treatment For Ankle Pain

i went to the doctor yesterday woth ankle pain and was told i have hurt my achilles tendon and it would start to get better within 24hours with the help of painkillers, the pain has acctually got alot worse and was wondering if i should go back to the doctor or wait a few more days?
