Suggest Treatment For Anxiety Along With Heart Palpitations?

I have been getting heart palpitations it's like I'm having anxiety attacks. As far as I know, I don't have problems with my heart. This has been happening daily. I want to be sure I'm not about to have any problems with my heart. I am a bit overweight but I do work out five times a week.

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. As long as you are sure that your heart is healthy and you do not have any physical problems, I can see these palpitations are related to your health related anxiety and obsession. Health anxiety or health phobia or hypochondriasis is undue morbid worry and obsession about self health matters. Such obsession leads to observing their own organs and such observation worsens the symptoms them self and the patient becomes more anxious.

The best method to overcome this problem is a combination of psychotherapy, medicines, exercise and meditation. You should consult a psychologist / psychotherapist / psychiatrist.

Psychiatrist Dr. Gourav Monga's  Response
Hello
Welcome to health care magic
I can understand your situation. I appreciate your effort to seek online support.

As per your details, you are possibly having underlying anxiety disorder (panic disorder). For this consult a psychiatrist for detailed evaluation. However, the basic investigations should be done like ecg, thyroid profile etc. Following treatment strategies could be helpful-

1) Antidepressants/Antianxiety agents like SSRIs (escitalopram, sertarline, paroxetine etc) and Benzodiazepines
2) Psychotherapy/ Counselling sessions
3) Relaxation techniques like yoga, meditation, deep breathing etc

Hope it helps
Good luck
