Suggest Treatment For Anxiety And Overeating In Child

My 9-year old granddaughter weighs 112lb; eats until she throws up; has had anxiety issues for the past three years; has serious behavioral issues. She has been to counselors on and off but no improvement. Parents are very strict. She will not accept no for an answer and goes into a screaming frenzy. Her family physician prescribed a low dose of Prozac in September. There is a bit of an improvement but she has a long way to go. Your comments and advice - PLEASE.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, instead of treating the child it is most important to educate the parents first, in other word counselling of parents is necessary, as you said this is not the pure form of anxiety as seen in adult patient, but this could be pediatric psychological problem, again I would say that to educate the parents is must, take care have a nice day.
I find this answer helpful
