Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Alprazolam is a Benzodiazepine drug and the drug is a good anti anxiety and sleep drug. The drug helps to control symptoms of anxiety. The drug has high abuse potential and it is known to cause dependence. In my opinion as you have stopped the drug so its not wise to start the drug again. If anxiety becomes intolerable or results in horrible symptoms then it can be used in low doses on SOS basis. Use of it on SOS basis wouldn't cause much effect on developing foetus. Consult your doctor and take the drug as per prescription only and don't self medicate yourself.

Avoid using the drug regularly as this would result in dependence to foetus and it may result in many complications to baby following delivery.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
