General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Imaging/ x rays of the knees would show if there are arthritic changes present.

The abnormal sensations may be due to neuralgia which is nerve related pain.
Neuralgia occurs due to neuropathy which is abnormal function of the nerves in a particular area.

There are different causes of neuropathy, one of these is trauma to the nerves from surrounding bone changes,
Other causes would be diabetes, liver disease, kidney disease, vitamin b12 and folate deficiency, thyroid disease, autoimmune disease such as rheumatoid arthritis.

If the images do not show any changes then you can have blood tests done for some of the above.

I hope this helps
