Suggest Treatment For Asthma And Emphysema

I ve been diagnosed with asthma & emphysema over 9 years ago. Recently, I feel as if I struggle to breathe, even when I ve just moved to the restroom and back to bed at night. This also occurs during the daytime as well, if I m singing at Church I feel out of breathe while singing several songs. My ins. has me being monitored by my general physician, should I request to go to my pulmonary doctor whom I haven t seen in approx. 5+ years. I do not exercise regularly as I should, but I m concerned to do so.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and thanks you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein and I will try to help you as much as I can with my answer.

Yes, I think you should see pulmologist since these are not mild symptoms and you need specific therapy, possibly steroids and inhalators. Also, you need specific pulmologic wotk up that includes spirometry and chest CT scan. This may be progression of the diseases or there is underlying pneumonia and it cant be terated by GP.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
