Suggest Treatment For Asthma And Peripheral Edema

IS THERE ANY FORM OF COREG THAT DOES NOT HAVE POLYETHELENE GLYCOL IN IT? LITERATURE STATES IT SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN TO THOSE WITH ASTHMA. MY HUSBAND WAS PRESCRIBED THIS MED AND HE DOES HAVE ASTHMA WHICH HAS PROGRESSED TO COPD. HE IS EXPERIENCING DIFFICULTY URINATING, BLOATING, DIFFICULTY PASSING STOOL, BLOOD PRESSURE JUMPING UP SUDDENLY TOO HIGH, NEEDS TO TAKE 1-2 VALSARTIN TO BRING IT DOWN. ALSO HAVING PERIPHERAL EDEMA AND TAKES LASIX FOR THAT, BUT IT PERSISTS, AND HE ALSO FEELS VERY DEHYDRATED AND CAN T MAKE SPIT MUCH OF THE TIME. HE IS ON OXYGEN ALMOST CONSTANTLY, USES A CPAP AT NIGHT WITH OXYGEN, LOTS OF DIFFICULTY BREATHING.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

After going through your query, I can say that your husband has Asthana and COPD plus he must have a cardiac problem also.

Low cardiac output suggest oedema and dehydration. so kindly consult your physician about the issue. Keeping constantly oxygen should be monitored also.

So no to wait and have consultation as early as possible. Otherwise, the situation may worsen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nirav Nimavat, General & Family Physician
