General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
It is important for your daughter to see a dermatologist or allergist for proper evaluation and treatment of her atopic eczema. In the meantime, to provide comfort, the use of a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer applied to the skin several times a day can help to soothe itching and hydrate the skin.
Avoiding irritants such as harsh soaps or detergents can also be helpful. It is also important to avoid scratching the affected areas, as this can cause further irritation and increase the risk of infection. You should schedule an appointment with a dermatologist or allergist as soon as possible. In the meantime, please consult with a local doctor to get proper guidance.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
