Suggest Treatment For Back Pain After Tailbone Injury

I was pulled off of the good of a car 17 years ago onto gravel, tailbone was injured. Out of the blue 6 days ago it started hurting, bad! I've been icing it and sitting accordingly to avoid the area, the tailbone actually feels like it's in my left cheek, instead the norm. Any suggestions?
