Suggest Treatment For Back Pain With An Oval Lump At The Back

I have been having back pain for the past 2-3 months and recently noticed an oval shape lump on the right side of the middle of my back! What could it be as I recently saw my nurse (about 3mth ago) who said it was just a pulled muscle, not to worry and that it will go in a few weeks. It receded abit for about a week and now its back and very painful

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Muscular pain can last for days to weeks and sometimes a few months especially if the patient continues the activities that hurt the muscle in the first place. Lumps can happen as well in the area of the pulled muscle.
Treatment with local warm compresses, paracetamol and ibuprofen and physiotherapy should help. If no improvement with this please see a doctor. Other causes of the lump can be the case like lipoma, dermoid cyst or even muscle masses.

I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
