I woke up with a pain in my right side and have had it for a few days now. I have two knee replacements. I also have spinal stenosis for which I go to pain management and am on Percocet. However they aren t working with the pain in my back. Please advise. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The pain in the back with multiple issues causing nerve pressure is likely to worsen with time, bony weakness & advancing age. Please consult your neuro physician for needful investigations & increase in dosage/combination of pain medicine.

Physiotherapy & bone-friendly lifestyle (calcium & vitamin D supplements/regular exercises & physiotherapy) do delay the aggravation of symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
