Suggest Treatment For Benign Polyp On Vocal Cords

Hi I have a benign polyp on my vocal cords and I have a hoarse voice for 3 years.My vocal cord specialist says I should go for removal or polyp or leave it as it is.Now I started to get pain around my trachea and feel my throat muscle tense all the time.Any suggestions.I am 43 years old female.
