Suggest Treatment For Bipolar Disorder

I have bi polar 1. I have medical marijuana card. The pot helps me not to be anxious and depresssed. But I feel guilty because pot was considered a street drug. Is it better than pain killers( I have arthritis), and should I feel smoking it? Is it medical?
