Suggest Treatment For Bipolar Disorder

Hi my father is bipolar since 6 years he has had 5 episodes of mania since his diagnosis. During that time he stays in depression. Now again he is hypomaniac getting in all sorts of business ventures. He was sleeping less. The psychiatrists we r consulting had put him on epival 1500 mg, olepra 5mg, n at ativan 1 mg ,he has started to sleep with meds but mood is continously elated n he is becoming more irritable..... He was smoking 2 packs a day of cigarettes now has started using e cigarette along with a pack of cigarettes. It's been 3 weeks since change of meds but no good?

As number of episodes increase, it become difficult to control next episode. In his case, he may need higher doses of medication. Olanzapine should be around 20mg and valporate around 2000mg per day. Increase smoking is also part of his illness and will medication, all symptoms including smoking will be reduced.
