Suggest Treatment For Black Spot In The Eye

Father in law (age 74) has a black spot on his eye and can only see out of 1/2 of it. Now he has another spot in the other eye and loss of partial vision in that eye too. No headaches, but has arthritis, diabetic, COPD. Has appointment with PCP tomorrow but I am thinking he needs to go to the emergency room. He was admitted 14 days ago for pneumonia
