General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

These are significant symptoms and gastroenterologic work up is definitely required. Black stool may be sign of upper gastrointestinal bleedingas we see in gastritis, ulcer or stomach erosions. Other symptoms may indicate stomach issue as well so it would be good to do gastroscopy.

Other causes may include tumors or inflammatory bowel diseases and these should be ruled out with colonoscopy which must be done if there is low blood count present or rapid weight loss.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
