Suggest Treatment For Bladder Cancer In An Elderly Person

My daughter age 59 has been diagnosed with bladder cancer. She had one surgery 9 mo ago. She was just checked again and it is back, she is scheduled again for 11/23/16. Her Dr said this is a reoccurring cancer that this may continue to happen. Will it spread elsewhere? Is there any other treatment? Any input you have would be appreciated. Thank you. YYYY@YYYY

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a urologist and get evaluated. An MRI scan is required to assess the distant spread. If cancer has already spread to multiple sites, only palliative therapy will be possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
