Suggest Treatment For Bladder Infection And Fever

Hello. My father had a bladder infection and once admitted to the hospital got pneumonia. Since then he has been on antibiotics. He continues to run a fever about 1 am. Once he fevers the nurses give him Tylenol and the fever goes away within 1 hour. THis is happening every night for about a week. The doctors have no answers.

Urinary tract infections are the commonest bacterial infection in older people and the risk increases with age. Other predisposing factors in old age include diabetes, urinary tract stones, steroid use, and chronic illness impairing immune system.
Advice
1.     Cefixime 100 mg every 12 hours for 7 days
2.     Paracetamol 500 mg orally if fever occurs
3.     Syrup alkaline citrate 2 teaspoonful three times daily for 1 week
4.     Drink plenty of water to flush out bacteria
5.     Do not hold your urine. Urinate when you feel
6.     Investigations
a.     R/E of urine
b.     C/S of urine
a.     Blood sugar (F & PP)
b.     Serum creatinine
If recurrence still occurs despite above measures then cefalexin 125 mg daily per oral may be taken for 6 months as prophylactic treatment.
