Suggest Treatment For Bladder Infection

We have A 13 year old Standard Schnauzer that has been on an antibiotic for 3 weeks for a Bladder infection. He has improved, but not completely. He is still having mistakes in the house.Tonight he peed in the house and there was blood in it. He goes back to the vet for a retest on Monday. Do you think this is normal to not be completely healed of this in 3 weeks?? Starting to really worry it may be something else!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a bladder infection. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen three tablets a day.

I also suggest using a cycle of antibiotics. It is a prescription treatment, so you should consult your doctor before the treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
