Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a small blister on the shaft of my penis a half once below the head after using a penis pump.I haven t had sex in over a year so I m sure it s not an STD.its sore a little and has been 8 days and hasn t changed at all.can I Peirce it to drain it or will it go away on its own?
Not having sexual contact in about a year usually rules out STDs. Other reasons for a bump over the shaft of the penis are usually friction related.
This can happen when there is a swelling or injury to the skin. This may happen due to rubbing of the skin or direct injury that is very mild but gradual.
Most of the time, the boil would burst and reduce by itself. If there is no bleeding the wound can be cleaned with a mild antiseptic solution.
In case the boil seems to be fluctuating or reducing and increasing in size, it may have a blood supply and would need an in person examination by a doctor.
The doctor would then order an ultrasound to confirm the cause and then suggest the next best step which may be either medication or surgical removal.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Vignan Rachabattuni
