Hello,

Herpes is a virus causing contagious sores, most often around the mouth or on the genitals. It is a common sexually transmitted infection marked by genital pain and sores.

Herpes is a long-term condition. However, many people never have symptoms even though they are carrying the virus. You must consult your doctor for a thorough physical investigation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr K. V. Anand, Psychologist
