Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I regularly get blisters on top of my nose. Mega doses of vit c helps but I wonder what is the cause? I just took 10 days of prednisone due to serious poison ivy and my skin was so clear while taking it but when I stopped 3 days ago, the blisters are starting to appear again.
Since you are getting blisters on the nose, keep the skin of your face clean. Wash with water when it gets oily. You should apply water based herbal cream or ointment. Applying a thin layer of medicated ointment (like (Bactroban) on the area affected also works well. Avoid eating anything that causes you allergy. Avoid exposure to excessive sunlight, avoid too much drying of the skin. Stay away from addictions if any.
Take care of your hygiene take regular bath and do not share your toiletries. Prefer eating vegetarian food over non vegetarian food. You can get clinically examined by a dermatologist or take a course of Amoxicillin / Clavulanate or Doxycycline if it is resistant and recurrent. Get tested for herpes and STD to stay on the safer side.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
