Suggest Treatment For Blisters On The Vaginal Area

I had blisters appear on my vaginal area about three days ago. I went to the ER yesterday, and they said it looks like it may be herpes. They sent a culture out, but the results wont be back for a few days. This has never happened to me, and I have been with the same partner for almost four years now. They gave me an off brand valtrex and silver sulfadiazine for it. Today, the sores are almost gone after applying the cream a few times since I got it. Is it possible this isn t herpes?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

Blisters on the vaginal area are likely to be herpes.

If you had been given valtrex and sulfadiazine and the improvement can be seen on those blisters and they might be due to some allergic reactions but
I would suggest you to wait for the results of herpes test, which will come soon, as proper treatment of herpes is required for the complete relief.

Topical cortisone cream is not recommended as it may cause superimposed infection. You can take pain medications if there is pain over blisters.

I would not be surprised if your herpes tests comes positive despite having the same sexual partner since 4 years,it can occur even without sexual exposure as it is highly contagious.

Consult dermatologist if herpes comes positive and take appropriate treatment.

Wishing you both good health.

Regards,
