Suggest Treatment For Blood Blister On Toe Nail

i bought some new shoes and after wearing them for a night (i know i should have worn them in) my big toe on my left foot was looking bruised etc. i realised in the next few days after that it was actually like a blood blister, and its been just over a week and its popped. the toenail was starting to come away last night but this morning it looks ok though i need to keep watching what shoes i wear, do i need to go to a doctors or should i just keep an eye on it and go from there?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted the history of a blood blister on toe on wearing new shoes.
Once for sure you know the cause.
Since blister has opened up you can dress it with Povidone iodine.
Change regularly.
Elevate foot when resting to allow the edema to subside.
Change the dressings daily as foot is worst affected due to dependent position and being in tough with floor.
Consult your Doctor if there is no substantial improvement.
Do not use any shoes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
