Suggest Treatment For Blood Blister On Upper Lip

I just got caught in the subway door and it smashed my upper lip leaving me with a huge bump (blood blister?) on my upper lip in the middle. How do I get rid of it or at the very least reduce it by tomorrow AM when I have a very important job interview!

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain it seems that you have got traumatic injury to the upper lip and there is fortmation of a hematoma and along with it there is also inflammation leading to soft tissue swelling due to exudation of inflammatory fluid..
I would suggest you to do cool compresses over the swelling.
You can dip a thick wash cloth in cold water and place it over the swelling for 2 to 3 minutes..
Repeat it frequently throughout the day.
You can also take Ibuprofen for reducing inflammation and swelling as well as pain..
Avoid licking, pressing or biting over the lip..
You can also get a steroid injection from a physician to get the swelling reduced early..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
