Suggest Treatment For Blood Blisters On The Fingers

I ve had a blood blister on my finger for over 10 years now, just wondering if it s anything to be worried about? I ve been having a clear spot rash around it, as well as my other hand and fingers on and off for the last year or so too. I ve been prescribed 3 different types of steroid creams but nothing has helped.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your short history of blood blisters on finger for 10 years, not yet diagnosed well, no effect in spite of 3 different steroid creams, clear spot rash around it.
The commonest causes of such appearance may be one of the following:
Hemangioma.
Lichen.
Allergic rash with old granuloma.
The best diagnosis can be had by consulting a Dermatologist or so. He may refer you to a Surgeon for second opinion.
Once a proper diagnosis is made it may be possible to have excision and histopathology examination for getting a perfect diagnosis as well as get it cured by an appropriate management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
