Suggest Treatment For Blood In Phlegm Despite Taking Sentra

Hi. I ve been on Sentra for a chest infection for 7 days now , with 3 more days to finish prescription. Today the cough seems deeper in my chest and I ve been coughing up flem in the past 4 days as she has me on much ex as well. Yet tonight when coughing its dryer and like 2 or 3 tiny little specs of what looks like blood is on the tissue after I cough into it. Should I be put on a different antibiotic or is it normal after 6 days and much coughing to feel still tired and have a low fever of 96.7. Normally I am 97.3 F. Along with the above symptoms. Thank you, Diane

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

After three days of prescription, the amount of coughing with blood in
phlegm is not normal you must get a sputum examination with x-ray
chest for further management guidelines to alter the medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
