Hello,

Glass in the wound is very difficult to detect and remove so it is likely some small pieces may have remained after the fall that you had. On the other hand, many times the body isolates them with fibrous tissue and sometimes they do find their way out and cause redness and swelling locally till they go completely out.

I would not expect you to have finger pains due to glass pieces in the elbow area. I would recommend you to take Ibuprofen for the pain and meanwhile, you can set an appointment with your GP (there is no need to go to the ER).

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
